One point a game is what it sounds like. Confidence points means you rank your picks 1–10 on the weekly ten and a wrong favorite costs what you said it was worth — which is the version worth arguing about.

Picks lock at kickoff and stay private until then. You can see that a league mate has picked a game; you cannot see which side until the game starts. That is what stops the last person to open the page from copying the room, and it is enforced on the server against the server’s clock, not the clock of the person being graded.

A finished game is the only thing that scores. A game at halftime has a score on the board and is not a result, so it pays nothing and stakes nothing.
